WATER CHILD
Among tides we adapt.
Lily always felt different, drawn to water's calm and mystery. While others played on land, she listened to the rain and spoke to rivers in a silent language. The townspeople called her the Water Child. One day, a shimmer beneath the surface beckoned. She stepped in, never to return to land again.

INSPIRATION
"The Water Child" is a cinematic photo story inspired by the romantic silhouettes and dramatic storytelling of Tia Adeola’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection. Informed by her tribute to Thierry Mugler and his love for film noir, this project embraces a sense of melancholic fantasy, told through the lens of water, memory, and transformation.
MY ROLE
AMONG TIDES, WE ADAPT
For this project, I explored the idea of escaping reality through curiosity. A feeling many of us know when the world feels too loud, too fast, or too overwhelming. Inspired by Lily’s journey beneath the surface, I reflected on how moments of wonder could offer a break from the noise and reconnect us with imagination.
Rather than staying at the surface of everyday life, this project invited us to dive deeper, into stillness, softness, and surreal beauty. A world where reality and dream blurred, and where curiosity became a form of survival.
For the Water Child project, I developed the concept, led the art direction, photographed, and edited the entire series.
